The Little Sisters of the Poor reached their goal for the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community in June! The Thursday before the walk, the Sisters, staff and volunteers escorted Residents out to the grounds to walk around the Home. This in-house walk was quite enjoyable as the Residents were able to try out the new sidewalk behind the Grotto. Everyone then returned inside for ice cream novelties in the Meet-N-Treat.
The day of the walk, Sister Margaret Angeline was in our booth greeting our many walkers. The rain held off and everyone was able to complete the 1-mile or the 5k around the stadiums on the north shore. We can’t wait for next year!
